We digitally print on two Xeikon presses and brought the first 330 then the first high speed 3300 into the UK. Plas Farm contact Borble – a major outlet chain need interim 5,000 units like yesterday – please contact L29 for details – can you do anything; the products need 2 labels only recently designed and one with a special shape.
13.00 hrs after emails L29 & Borble in discussion; L29 send artwork; Borble start to specify the job, look for cutters and submit quotes. Adhesive Label Material to be varnished white PP perm adhesive – OK for fridge and freezer, non-absorbent so won’t wrinkle when wet and digitally prints on our Xeikon presses great. The lid label design is 86 mm diameter and we have cutter C8 at 85 mm diameter – OK.
The Tub label design is shaped to wrap around a tapered tub; Borble look through their list of several hundred special shape label die cutters to see if we have anything near and luckily find a very close cutter. L29 slightly amend shaped label to suit cutter and re-create artwork in CMYK switching from the initial 3 special colours – including gold the label also has a barcode. Artwork arrives at Borble 19.15 hrs and the with no plates to make the job is placed in next a.m. print schedule.
Wednesday 26 Aug a.m. 5,000 of each label printed and packed for the local Plas Farm to collect; an example of the digital label service that can be delivered when the supply chain works together.
