As leading Label Printer and Label Supplier we print Digital Labels using the non-contact Xeikon digital label press technology. This labels print process functions by electro-statically attracting toner particles to the adhesive label material so producing wide tonal range from the lightest highlights to densest solids in a large process colour gamut. Many of our Digital Printed Labels are supplied as versions in a single run. One great advantage of our Digital labels print service is our ability to print a single press run that comprises many different designs and all without any plate charges.
We do not use solvent based inks or printing plates so our print is more eco-friendly. In our process toner is fused to the web at a temperature leading to a colourfast high quality print result without the need for pre-treatment of the self adhesive materials.
We operate a trade labels service to designers, printers and brokers who apply our Digital Printed Labels as part of their total service to their end user customers. We have operated this service for over 4 years and can offer a spreadsheet based self-quote system so our trade customer can quickly deliver a price without reference to Borble in many cases.
We run several standard label materials and then there are a number of special sticky label materials discussed and described in this article and elsewhere on this website. The following descriptions are generic and based on our observations and experience as well as the label stock manufacturers specifications. However it is very important that you request printed label or blank material samples from us and that you test these samples in a process that replicates or exceeds the label application and service environment. In common with the material manufactures we state here that it is the responsibility of the user to ensure the suitability of the material for the application.

The difference between peelable and permanent adhesive labels can be subjective and samples should be tried before deciding. Paper is excellent for many label applications particularly dry products and short-life drinks containers but care needs to be exercised because a paper label will wrinkle when wet and even if the finish is a protective or image enhancing over-laminate because in time and repeated exposure condensation moisture can capillary into the label from the edge.
Polypropylene is an excellent non-absorbent label stock. Our toner takes well to the material such that in many cases there is no need for the over-lamination traditionally applied to chemical containers to reduce the risk of spills removing the ink; our fused toner has been proven to resist spills of cleaning fluid – but you must test apply to be sure.
With clear PP is sometimes necessary to apply a patterned white background to optically lift an image on clear PP particularly where the label is applied to a clear container – but this does depend on the design intention and we have many example samples of clear labels with and without white backing the printed content.
Our white is opaque and applied as a 5th colour through the digital print process.
Window stickers are reverse printed on clear PP with a white PP back lamination and again we can supply samples for you to assess on permanent and peelable material.
