Small Run Printed Labels on Rolls benefit from a structured approach to specifying the optimum low cost printed label. It is important to shave costs from even fast digital labels print wherever possible and our LABELSPRINT approach starts your cost saving by removing the need for expensive plates which at typically £50 each plus set-up can add £00’s to conventional label prices before starting the press.
Printed label users including our trade labels customers realise that digital labels represent a fast labels service and a low printed label cost opportunity which must be addressed in a systematic manner as described in thgei our LABELSPRING e-commerce website.
Optimise label size, a label of 150 mm leading edge can be printed 2 across on our wide label presses. However if the label must be 155 mm leading edge then only one across can be produced resulting in wasted time and label materials at higher cost.
Optimise the advantages of digital labelling by value engineering the self adhesive label materials and finishes. Traditionally chemical companies have applied large bland labels with few label colours and limited printed label content and few label colours to reduce cost.
It has been accepted practice to over-laminate labels chemical to enhance the look of a label and to protect ink from contents spilling. This costly over-lam enhancement and protection are rarely necessary with our non-contact digital label print process and contact us for samples that you can test in your application.
Our experience in digital label optimisation takes a zero-based value analysis approach looking to minimise cost and maximise quality, function and opportunity. Steps along this proven path can be memorised as the Borble 4S approach; addressing:
• Die Cut Printed Label Size and Shape
• Printed Label Suppliers Materials
• Digitally Printed Labels
• Colour Matching Printed Labels
1. SIZES: Minimise the number of different label sizes so that the highest number of different sorts can be printed in a single digital label press run. Define the label size to optimise material usage and press time – please contact us for details.
2. STOCKS: Minimise order quantities of each sort to reduce stock holding, assist cash-flow, reduce label inventory and management cost while being able to introduce design changes at short notice. This process is helped by engineering label size variations to a minimum and different design sorts to a maximum so small quantities of individual label designs can be printed in a single digital press run. We can work with you to pre-plan print runs to match your label inventory patterns – contact us for details.
3. SORTS: Design your different sorts of labels to include full colour illustrations to strengthen brand and assist user instructions, fine text reversed from background colours, numerous languages. There are no printing plates to buy so the range of sorts and label design content are not limited. Well designed labels do not need over lamination to enhance appearance – contact us for samples.
4. SPECIFICATION: Test digital label samples on production materials to select the optimum material specification for your application. In most cases today we find varnished PP is most suitable and there is no need for an over lamination film to protect the label because our toner is not solvent based – it is dry toner fused to the web and delivers the best in good digital label designs.
In the way described we see more companies taking a new 4S approach to digital label management – minimising cost and maximising brand promotion.
